Artists from 11 local art groups and individuals show and sell a wide variety of work at this popular annual event. Blisworth Village Hall, Stoke Rd NN7 3BZ.

Sun 1  May Day – music, dance & more

Brackley Morris Men dance the sun-up outside Brackley Town Hall at 5.30am and reappear for the Artisan Market at noon.

Mon 2  May Day event – music, dance & more

Morris and maypole dancers, musicians, May Day queen floral procession, activities & tours at Sulgrave Manor, 10am – 4pm. (T)

Brackley & District band will be performing at the annual Weedon Lois & Weston Fete. 12.00

Sat 2  Continuum at Forge 2 – visual arts

Thursday 5 to Thursday 26  Annual Selected Open Exhibition – visual arts

Artists from south Northamptonshire and north Oxfordshire show paintings, drawings, original prints, textile and mixed media work, sculpture, jewellery, ceramics and more at The Michael Heseltine Gallery, Chenderit School, Archery Road, Middleton Cheney OX17 2QR. Towcester’s annual music jamboree starts in the pubs on Friday night, fills around 12 venues on Saturday and concludes with Rockschools’ showcase in the Town Hall and Songs of Praise in St Lawrence Church. A wide variety of music is on offered, including jazz favourite Lincoln Noel (pictures) with some participatory events including a folk music workshop in The Forum and a ceilidh in the Town Hall on the Saturaday. Sun 26  Brackley Folk in the Park – music
