Barley Mow update June ’16

As part of the Queen’s Birthday celebrations on June 11th we will be holding a mini beer festival with a selection of local real ales served at our outside bar. We will also be serving a selection of ciders, chilled wines and soft drinks, perfect for keeping you refreshed whilst you enjoy the party. There’s also going to be the chance to try some authentic Thai food as Toy Coates joins us to cook up Thai curries and snacks. Alongside this we will be firing up the barbecues as well. Food available from 5pm.

Our next event for June is Father’s Day. Sunday 19th is the day to look after Dad this month. We will be running two food offers. Traditional Sunday roasts will be served from 12 – 3 pm and then from 5 – 7 pm we will be holding a Texan Barbecue. Matt, Chef and Landlord, studied in Dallas for a year and he will be bringing all his knowledge to the grill. Look out for more details at the pub or on our website soon.

On Saturday 2nd July we will be holding another Quiz Night. Our previous events have been a great success and we are starting work on ensuring this one is no different. Tickets cost £8.50 per person which includes a sharing platter of homemade pub snacks. We have a team limit of 6 people and tickets must be paid for in advance. Teams of two have done very well in the past so couples and small teams are very much encouraged!

To book for any of these events please call us on 811 086.

We are also recruiting again, this time for a part time Kitchen Assistant. The job will involve washing dishes, keeping the kitchen clean and organised and helping the chef. It could also progress into more direct involvement with food preparation. We look forward to hearing from anyone interested in joining our exceptional team, no experience necessary but a positive and hard-working attitude is a must. Shifts are very flexible but would be over evenings and weekends. Applicants must be aged 16 or over. To apply please email your CV to or drop it in to the pub.
