Maple syrup glazed ham, rosemary roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, Madeira wine sauce

Wakefield estate venison and game pie with wild mushroom short crust pastry

The menu is priced at two courses for £18 and three courses for £22. To celebrate the launch of the menu we are running a special offer – book a table for the 1st, 2nd or 3rd of December to receive 15% off your total food bill. This means you can enjoy two courses for just £15.30. For larger groups, parties of eight or more will be asked to pre-order their meals. We are always happy to cater for special dietary requirements, just contact us in advance.

We have also recently announced a special gift voucher scheme. We hope this might make Christmas shopping a little easier for some people! Treat someone special to a three course meal for two? Beer vouchers for a particularly hard to buy for Dad? Vouchers available at the bar now.

Saturday 19th December is our Family Christmas Party, starting at 3.30 pm with a special Cha Char Chimps entertainment show, there will also be a chance to see Santa and join in with some Christmas crafts – all for free! And on Wednesday 23rd December we will be filling the pub with festive cheer as we, together with St. James Church, invite everyone to join us for “Beer and Carols” at 6.30pm. Come along with friends, children and family to sing along with your favourite carols and enjoy a pint or some mulled wine alongside freshly baked mince pies.

We were also very pleased to welcome Paulerspury’s knitting and craft group to the pub last month. Join us on Monday evenings from 7pm for a knit and a natter! The group are keen to welcome new members and are very happy to teach anyone to knit or crochet.

After many requests we have also set a date for a pub quiz night – we are planning a great evening of entertainment for Saturday 30th January, starting at 7.30pm. The quiz and supper evening will include a specially written quiz, with questions and challenges for all interests including picture and music rounds, to be enjoyed with a handcrafted, pub snacks sharing board. Enjoy our famous scotch egg, delicious pork pies, freshly cooked sausage rolls and homemade vegetable crisps and pork scratchings as you take on the trivia and battle it out to win some great prizes. Tickets are £8.50 per person and must be booked in advance to confirm numbers. Maximum team size will be 6 people.

To book a table or find out more about any of the above please call us on 811 086 or pop in to the pub.
