Barley Mow over Christmas

turkeyWe are excited to announce a new special event for early next year. On Saturday 21st January we will be celebrating Burns’ Night at the pub. A traditional Scottish piper, music and poems will feature and the kitchen will be putting on a real feast. The haggis is the star attraction, of course, but there will be an alternative available for the fainthearted! We expect the haggis may split opinion but we think Cranachan, for dessert, will be universally popular. The King of Scottish puddings, it is made from toasted oatmeal that has been soaked overnight in Scotch whisky and topped with cream, honey and fresh raspberries. A true Burns Supper also gives us a great excuse to get some lovely malt whiskys ready for thorough sampling… Get your booking in quick – tickets cost £25 per person and must be booked in advance, £5 non-refundable deposit required when booking.

We’re all set for another marvellous Christmas down the pub. Don’t forget Beer and Carols on Tuesday 20th December at 6pm and make sure you fit in a few more festive tipples over the break, our opening times are as follows:
